Our 15 year old sits complaining while slowly forcing down another bite of sweet potato. While we are explaining that we will all be eating healthy meals now, his friend looks on with a grin and says something about how it's not the length of your life that's as important as the quality. Whereas we might have agreed with his statement had the subject been different, we know he was talking about eating junk food as much as you please. As soon as he had said this we all started laughing. (Dude, that's like something a unhealthy fat person would say.) But all kidding aside, would a 22 year old with stage 4 cancer, or the dad of a 5 year old with leukemia feel the same? What about a 38 year old Mom with breast cancer? All around us, people of all ages are getting different types of cancer, and other types of illness. Feeding a family of five every day isn't always an easy task, but it gets a lot harder once you're aware of the harmful products down nearly every aisle of the grocery store. And so our journey begins.
